We carefully remove all organic matter and take it away for safe disposal. No raccoon poop is left behind.

Disinfection

We use hospital grade commercial disinfectants to kill all pathogens in the area that the raccoons used to defecate.

Raccoon Poop is Dangerous

Raccoons are the primary hosts of Baylisascris procyonis, a parasite known as raccoon roundworm. While it does not harm raccoons very much, it can be lethal to humans and other animals. Roundworm eggs are passed in the raccoon feces, which get into the soil and risk becoming ingested. Eggs may also become airborne when the feces have dried up. If there are feces on your property, it is important that you have them removed immediately – and properly. We provide safe and effective raccoon feces removal services across the GTA.

Raccoons Don't Flush

Raccoons are relatively clean animals that prefer to defecate away from their dens. They like to use the same locations repeatedly, creating large piles of feces known as latrines. Latrines are commonly found on rooftops, decks, and lawns. They can also be found within attics, gardens, porches, and sheds. Raccoons will continue to use the same latrines as long as they are accessible. These latrines will only get worse with time. Call us for effective removal and disinfection.

What Does Raccoon Poop Look Like?

Raccoon poop looks a lot like dog poop. Droppings are light to dark brown, 2 to 3 inches in length, and blunt at the ends. The only differentiator between a raccoon’s droppings and a dog’s is the presence of undigested berries within the poop. Raccoon poop is also usually found in piles, known as latrines. Latrines are usually found on raised surfaces, such as the top of a roof or the base of a tree. Latrines may also be found in attics.

Feces Removal FAQ

What attracts raccoons to my yard?

Raccoons go where they can find food and shelter. As omnivores, they will feed on the foods you grow in the yard as well as any garbage, scraps, or pet food they find. Areas with water are especially attractive. Shelters include decks, porches, sheds, and attics.

How do you clean it up?

We remove raccoon feces with commercial-grade disinfectant and steam cleaners. First, the feces are physically removed and bagged. Then, the surfaces that the feces touched are sprayed with disinfectant. Finally, when requested, we use a steam cleaner to eliminate raccoon roundworm eggs. Our technicians wear protective equipment to ensure that they do not touch or inhale any feces.

Is your treatment safe?

Our raccoon removal treatments are totally safe. We use hospital-grade disinfectants that are safe to use in a multitude of environments, including daycare centres and retirement homes. The surfaces we clean are safe for you to use as soon as the disinfectant has dried.

How much does raccoon feces removal cost?

Raccoon feces removal starts at $245. The total cost depends on the size of the latrine and its location. A large pile of feces on the roof, for example, may cost more than a small pile on the ground. Our steam cleaning package starts at $345.

Why is raccoon poop dangerous?

Raccoon poop is dangerous because it contains many harmful bacteria including salmonella and leptospirosis. It is also likely to contain raccoon roundworm, an intestinal parasite that is lethal to humans and domesticated animals.

What do you do if your dog eats raccoon poop?

If you think your dog may have gotten into some raccoon poop, take it to a veterinarian as soon as possible. Your dog may have ingested some harmful parasites. A veterinarian can examine your dog and administer antiparasitic medication to ensure that your dog is ok.
